Charlotte is home to fun, athletics, history, and real estate. Yes, real estate. From homes in downtown Charlotte, to homes that overlook beautiful lakes, there are many options when it comes to Charlotte real estate.
Downtown Charlotte:
Town homes dot the landscape of downtown Charlotte. For under $200,000 you can enjoy a daily walk to work, nearby restaurants, and downtown attractions.
Charlotte for the history buffs:
If you enjoy learning about history, there is a part of Charlotte that will interest you. The southern part of town is home to some of the large, beautiful manor homes you picture when you think about the South. Houses in this history-rich area are more expensive than other types of Charlotte real estate, but you are buying a part of history.
First time homebuyers:
The east side of Charlotte is an excellent place for those who are sick of renting to buy their first home. It is also a convenient place to live if you work downtown. These homes are located right outside the downtown area, making it a quick trip to work.
The Lakes:
Inching southward, closer to South Carolina, are two beautiful lakes: Lake Wylie and Lake Norman. If you are looking for great views, shoreline homes, and luxury homes, then look at the neighborhoods that occupy the hundreds of miles of lakeshore. Many of the homes in these areas are new.
Going to the University?
If the answer to that question is yes, then you will want to look at Charlotte real estate in the northeast part of town. There are spots of student housing, but there are also homes for families and singles that are not attending the university. The hospital is also in this area, so if you are working at the hospital, or have to go there to receive treatment on a regular basis, you may want to live in this part of town.
In and out of town often?
If you feel like you live in airports, make a note that the airport in Charlotte is in the southwest part of town. It may be more convenient for you to live close to the airport.
Out of town:
If you don’t want to live in Charlotte itself, there are many slower-paced cities and towns outside of Charlotte, many with a rich history and beautiful homes.
Choosing your piece of Charlotte real estate:
Hopefully the list above will give you a place to start looking for your home or apartment. You can narrow your search by driving through neighborhoods, looking for homes for sale. Try looking in the local newspaper and on the Internet. A real estate agent who is familiar with the area you are interested in is a great asset in finding your dream home in Charlotte.
